So finally the day is here - iMODO.com is officially live.

Who are we? Well, were a bit different than other domain monetization companies, being that the sites we build are full of content and user interaction - in fact just like real websites. And whilst this does encourage and result in visitors clicking the content in addition to the advertisements, we believe this will only serve to make your sites stickier for your visitors and provide them with a much better experience than just a simple page of ads. We have also plugged in some basic social networking tools and a forum to help each domain augment into sites with unique content.

“So wont the free clickable content erode my earnings….” we hear you say. Well, no we dont think it will, infact we know it to be quite the contrary. Aside from none of the content taking visitors away from your site, we’ve also tested the click through rate of advertisements to visitors and have found that domains get more pages indexed in the search engines, sites become viral and sticky and vistor numbers have organic growth. However, as much of a moving feast which iMODO still is, there are still a lot of changes, additions and amendments which we intend to make. It is still raw. It’s also still buggy and will take us some more toil in order to get it right.. The good news is, this is our beta phase and we have a lot of other funky stuff in development. In parallel to 1plus.net (our proof of concept platform), user help and guidance is invaluable to us and we welcome and support both ‘working groups’ and individual suggestions.

Some other points. Because this is very new and very different to that which has come before, our root ad providers rightly want to take this a step at a time. We fully support this view of course because if there’s one thing that has a potentially devastating effect on our long term growth are the old adages such as “click fraud” and “bad traffic”. Lets be clear about this right now, we will not tolerate suspicious traffic, period. Obviously we have reactive measures in place to combat this but web 2.0 is about being pro-active. If you meet some basic criteria that tell us that you’re unlikely to be a bad guy, then we will work with you and treat you as a partner, someone whos welcome to stay with us for the long haul.

Unfortunately, we wont be in a position to take everyone on board from day one. If you already have an active relationship with us through 1plus.net or are known at namepros.com (or other reputable forums) then please feel free to sign up and we’ll hook you up with a premium account straight away. The platform will be extended to others shortly so please do submit a registration anyway and we’ll get back to you real soon. When you do, please keep us in the loop with regard information about you and your domains and we’ll be in a better position to understand your requirements. Plus, if there ever is a question mark over your traffic and/or sites we can take a more objective and informed view if we have some additional background information.

We intend the future of iMODO to be one that is driven and directed in part by our users. We will be bringing on board staff, admins, moderators, consultants and contractors very shortly and we have various renumeration options planned. As much as I hate to use a seemingly overly used phrase we really do intend iMODO to be “for domainers and by domainers”. our intention is to be focused, flexible, open and transparent.

The first stage is the implementation of 1plus.net email accounts. So, if any user wants a [your_user_name]@1plus.net email account powered by Gmail then send a mail to support or click the link provided in your CPanel.

This offer is only available to verified, established users of 1plus, i.e. have an active account with several domains actually parked on the site and a relationship lasting no shorter than 8 weeks or so.

Were pleased to announce a whole range of new features requested by our users have now been tested, uploaded and are ready to use…

1. “My News Links” - This is solely for news domains. It allows you guys to create custom news columns…Using this tool will allow you to create news columns that you decide upon. You create them (making up to 25 links), give them a name and then your news domains will be completely specific to you and what news you want to show. It will also bypass any issue we might have had previously with duplicate content…

2. “Customizing” - In your domain manager you’ll notice an edit option. Hitting this takes you to a page where you can modify or edit your domain. Now you may edit specific elements of your domain quickly and easily. Any field left blank will simply take your default options. The customize page also relates solely to the skin you have chosen for any particular domain.

3. “PPC feed manipulator”. Previously, whatever keywords you chose for your news feeds also generated your ads. Now you can choose “ad keywords” that may be different to your news feeds…

4. “Domain Stats” Weve installed the ability for you users to insert a more comprehensive stats program - like google analytics e.g.. You may however use any stats 3rd party provider (not necessarily analytics) and place the code in the field provided on the customize page.

5. “Alternate Languages” You may now choose different language feeds for domains that are not English related. French, German and Spanish domain feeds are now available.

6. “Page Titles” Customize your own page titles

More features and add-ons are on the way..
