3. iMODO.com Features

3.1. I was a 1plus.net user, can I still use those templates?

Sure. For the foreseeable future all the 1plus templates are live and available to you. Should you wish to serve your own advertisements, simply go to your domain manager and choose the “build it” option. Here you will find the old 1plus.net templates; now called “legacy”.

3.2. What is the “Park” feature?

Currently unavailable. iMODO.com understands that you don’t want all your eggs in one basket. However, you can still use our DNS and see your raw visitor stats while parking with another provider. Simply select the “park” option in the right hand column and select your chosen provider. We will forward your traffic to your domain at the chosen provider. Very soon we will also offer a “rotation” feature that will allow you to park your domain with all your other providers at the same time. We will rotate the traffic equally between them.

3.3. What is “Build it”, I thought you were a parking company?

Sure we are. First and foremost we are here to monetize undeveloped domains. However, we firmly believe that a page of PPC ads do not convert as well for advertisers as a real website does. Building out your domains with iMODO ensures everyone wins. Your sites become viral, sticky and bookmarked and your visitors get a much greater user experience than simply seeing a page of PPC ads. This does not mean that iMODO.com monetizes any less than regular parking pages. In fact, quite the contrary. The repeat visitors and organic growth that your site provides means that although click through rates may be similar, your net income, because of an increase in higher converting traffic and repeat visitors should be much higher.

3.3. I park with another company, can i still use the iMODO domain manager to organise my portfolio?

Yes. Currently we do not support DNS routing to other providers although this will become an option soon. When we make this feature live, we will filter out bad IP addresses and bots etc, log your hits and forward any traffic to the parking provider of your choice. You may however still use our domain manager to monitor your domains registration data.

3.4. The registration details you have for my domain/s are slightly out of date?

This is normal. Our automated domain checker works 24/7. However, when you have a lot of domains, this takes some time for our bot to do the rounds. If you want to prioritize an update on a domain or a bunch of domains simply check the “scan” box in your domain manager and we will update your details as a matter of priority. We hope to be able to provide this in real time very soon.

3.5. I see my domain has a forum and social networking tools, whats that?

Right, this is important. Each premium domain at iMODO.com has its own forum, user profile and “myspace” esque set of social networking tools. Your visitors are able to participate on and contribute to your site and connect to our global forum. Your visitor remains your property however and we only allow search engine bots to index posts and profiles of the owning / root domain. This protects your site from the dreaded duplicate content and you will of course continue to benefit from any clicks made to the ads from your forum.

3.6. I notice I have a number of opt-in email addresses in a database, what are they and what can I do with them?

Anything you like. Opt in emails are those users who like your site and wish to learn more or receive an update or newsletter when you have one for them. Once you have a mailing list, you can download the list in CSV format and mail your users with whatever message you wish to send them. Very soon we hope to be able to send out automated messages on your behalf.

3.7. Why can I not use the premium templates for some of my domains?

Some domains do not fit with our platform, most for obvious reasons. Domains which will be excluded are; trademarks, company names, and names of specific natural persons (including misspellings), such as McDonalds.com, macdnlds.com, xcerox.com, micaljordan.com; words which would evoke a question of legality, such as automatic or military-style assault weapons, cracked or pirated software (eg, words like appz, warez, cracks, crackz, hacks, hackz), falsely obtained passwords (eg, words like passwordz), prostitution services, and questionable substances or words alluding to the ingestion of questionable substances; defamatory, libellous or threatening language, such as racial or religious epithets or language related to doing physical harm to people or their property; vulgar or obscene language, such as f-ckyu.com; any language that might advocate or glorify torture, rape or any other illegal or harmful act; and any language that is sexually explicit, including but not limited to language related to prostitution, child pornography or underage sex, bestiality, necrophilia, incest or paedophilia. Some domains may also be excluded because of their conversion rate. You will be informed of any domains which do not meet or fit our requirements. We also do not offer “premium” templates to everyone.

3.8. Won’t having all this content be detrimental to my revenue?

From our own live tests we have no evidence to suggest this, in fact quite the contrary. Obviously with return visitors and clickable content that doesnt earn revenue means your domain per visitor may return less revenue. However, with more visitors returning and your domains providing quality, converting traffic means that your average PPC will be higher and aggregately, by domain, you should receive more clicks. Weve also ensured that visitors who click your content are not redirected away from your site.
